Blue-winged Teal (Anas discors)

STATUS AT LONGHAM LAKES

Very rare vagrant, with just 1 record:

1. 1 female/immature on Longham Reservoir South from 3rd-13th December 2011 (George Green). It then disappeared until reappearing festively on Christmas Day, and was seen until on and off until 15th January 2012. The bird attracted a large (for Longham) audience of twitchers. It spent much of its time associating with a couple of Shovelers, and one female in particular.
