Goldeneye (Bucephala clangula)

STATUS AT LONGHAM LAKES

Uncommon winter visitor. All records given.

1. 1 female on Longham Reservoir North on c.26th-29th January 2005.
2. 1 female there on 16th November 2006
3. 1 female on the Quarry Floods, 20th December 2006.
4. 1 female on the Quarry Floods, 8th January – 7th April 2007, with 2 there on 11th March.
5. 1 female on the Quarry on 15th January 2008.
6. 2 females on the Quarry Floods on 13th March 2008.
7. 1 male on Longham Reservoir North, 20th December 2009 to 5th January 2010.
8. 1 from 23rd November 2010 to 11th February 2011 on LR South turned out to be an immature male.
9. 3 on 30th December 2010.
10. 3 on 13th January 2011, then 2 (male and female) on 14th-16th January 2011 (Ray Gleason). 1 juvenile male on 20th January (Trevor Thorpe).
11. 1 on 18th November (WEBS) and 19th November (GG), then again on 1st December (DC).
12. 2 females/immatures on 21st December 2012 (LB), then 1 on 23rd.
13. 1 on 2nd January 2013, then 2 on 5th, 2 females/immatures on 26th, 1 on 2nd February, 1 on 7th-13th February, then 4 on 23rd February, 2 on 24th.
14. 1 male with 5 females on 3rd March 2013 (Alan Pearce); same birds on 5th March, then singles up until 12th March.
15. 1 on 3rd October 2013 (DC).
16. 1 male from 7th-14th February 2015 (George Green).
