STATUS AT LONGHAM LAKES

Uncommon winter visitor.

1. 1 female at Longham Reservoir North on 1st December 2004.
2. 3 on 7th December 2004.
3. 2 females on 29th January 2005.
4. 11 on 19th March 2005.
5. 1 drake flew twice low over the site, 20th December 2006.
6. 1 on Longham Reservoir North , 10th November 2007.
7. 1 male on the Quarry 13th January 2008 (Chris Parnell).
8. 1 female on 14th January 2008.
9. 1 male on LR North on 17th December 2009.
10. 2 males over on 11th January 2010.
11. 1 on 27th November 2010.
12. 13 on 1st December 2010, then 4 on 14th, 10 on 27th (Chris Parnell) and 8 on 30th (Ray Gleason).
13. 15 seen at dusk (1 adult male) on 31st December 2010 (Trevor Thorpe), suggesting that they were roosting there.
14. Regular in January and February 2011, with up to 6 birds on Longham Reservoir South (3rd January).
15. 2 on 7th March 2011 (Larry Wheatland), with 6 on 12th (Chris Parnell) and 5 on 13th (Chris Parnell and Paul Morton), 6 on 17th, 2 on 25th and 3 on 28th.
16. 1 on 19th November on LR North (Tom Carley), then 1 on 27th (Chris Parnell).
17. 1 on 3rd and 4th, then from 7th-8th December 2011. 1 on 18th (WEBS) and 1 on 31st December.
18. 1 on 2nd and 2 on 5th January 2012. 1 on 14th.
19. 1 on 1st February 2012, then 4 (1 male) on 5th (Chris Parnell) and 1 until 23rd.
20. 2 on 4th February 2013 (1 male, 1 female) (Alan Pearce), which increased to 4 (3 females) on 6th and 7th February.
21. 1 on 23rd February 2013 and then 6 (5 males) on 24th (Alan Pearce).
22. 2 (m and f) on 6th March (Lorne Bissell).
23. 1 on the river on 11th January 2014 (George Green).
24. 1 pair on the River Stour on 31st January 2015 (George Green).
25. 3 on 19th March 2015 (Dorset Bird Club).
