In recent years I have been involved in television as both behind the scenes consultant and on-screen boffin.
Credits as consultant include Autumnwatch (BBC 2009 and 2010), Snow-watch (BBC 2010: Hannah Boot, assistant producer) and The Animals’ Guide to Britain (BBC: Paul Bradshaw producer, Chris Packham presenter).
Appearances in front of camera include Autumnwatch (BBC: 2008 – finding moths from a boat with Bill Oddie; 2010 – talking about garden bird behaviour with Martin Hughes-Games) and The One Show (BBC: 2008 – finding Nightjars with Mike Dilger; November 2011 – moths with Dr George McGavin). In November 2010 I made a guest appearance on Harry Hill’s TV Burp as a result of my Autumnwatch piece – an unexpected foray into prime time light entertainment.
I am always delighted to appear as an on-screen boffin, offering a combination of expertise and wry humour.
Specialist subjects: Garden birds, bird and mammal behaviour, moths.
