STATUS AT LONGHAM LAKES

Breeding resident on River Stour on the south of the site.

Older records for Longham Reservoir North:
1. 1 on 3rd September 2003.
2. 1 on 11th November 2004.
3. 1 on Longham Reservoir North 23rd October 2005.
4. Heard on 30th March 2006.
5. 1 on 15th August 2006.
6. 1 on 10th September 2006.
7. 1 on 1st September 2007.

Since this point has become regular in winter.

Higher numbers:
31 Oct 2009: 2 on LR North and 1 on River Stour (Trevor Thorpe). 2 on 14th October (Chris Parnell).
3 on site on 18th October 2010 (Ray Gleason). 2-3 on 21st October 2010 (Chris Parnell).
2 present on site for much of summer 2011. 3 present on 8 Dec 2011.
2012: Several in November, including 3 on 18th.
2015: 3 on 13th September (Trevor Thorpe)

Breeding:
2012: 1 on the Stour by Emily’s Wood, 28th May.
2014: 1 juvenile on 28th May (Terry Elborn).

Ringing:
2011: 5 ringed between June 10th and July 27th with 2 on June 21st.

2012: Just 1 ringed, in January.
2013: 1 ringed, on 13th November.
2014: 2 ringed, both in May.
