Rock Pipit (Anthus petrosus)

STATUS AT LONGHAM LAKES

Rare passage migrant.

1. 1 by Longham Reservoir South, 11th October 2010 (Ray Gleason).
2. 1 over the causeway between the Lakes on 14th October 2011.
3. 1 of the Scandinavian race spinoletta was found by Chris Parnell during freezing and windy conditions on 23rd March 2013; on 24th there were 3 present, including the obvious Scandinavian bird, and then on 25th there were a remarkable 4 individuals!
4. 1 on the island on Longham Reservoir South on 3rd October 2016 (George Green).

[1 bird over the causeway on 2nd November 2009 was either Rock or Water Pipit. It only called once.]
