Status at Longham Lakes
Common resident and scarce passage migrant.

Breeding: At least one pair is present all year and breeds in Samuel‘s Wood. However, there were 8 present in a flock on 12 March 2006, 12 on 30th March 2006 and 8 on 7th April 2006.

Held territory in Samuel’s Wood, summer 2010.
2011: 1 pair in Samuel’s Wood.
2012: At least 1 pair in Samuel’s Wood. 2 at nest hole in Emily’s Wood, 28th May.
2014: 2 pairs in Samuel’s Wood, early April.
2015: 1 singing from Emily’s Wood and 1 from Samuel’s Wood, 15th April.
2016: Two pairs were located in the woodland ‐ one at Emily’s Wood and the other at Samuel’s Wood (Steve Morrison).

Larger flocks:
1. 15 on 2nd February 2009.
2. 13 on 14th February 2009 (TT).
3. 92 in the large farm field, 27 February 2009.
4. 39 on the large farm field adjoining the site, 12th March 2009.
5. 47 on site on 10th April 2009.
6. 20 over on 4th September 2009.

Migrants:
1. 10 flew SE amongst Wood Pigeon flocks on 23rd October 2005.
2. 1 flew W on 27th October 2006.
